Corporate Compliance Director

About the Role

The Corporate Compliance Director holds a critical role in providing strategic legal guidance and ensuring oversight across various areas of corporate governance, compliance with legal and ethical obligations, risk management, and business operations. This role will report directly to the CEO, the Corporate Compliance Director serves as the organization’s principal compliance advisor, responsible for managing legal affairs and ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards. 

What You'll Do

  • Align, implement, and oversee comprehensive risk management structure and corporate compliance programs by working closely with the General Counsel to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to anti-corruption laws, data privacy regulations, information security, data protection, OSHA Safety, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) compliance and industry-specific regulations. 
  • Supervise compliance team members including export control specialist as a manager. 
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to information security, data privacy, and incident response. 
  • Conduct regular compliance assessments, audits, and training programs to promote a culture of compliance throughout the organization and propose enhancement measures to CEO and General Counsel for effective compliance risk management. 
  • Keep track of shifts in legislation and regulations, evaluate their effects on the organization, and suggest/implement necessary adjustments accordingly in collaboration with functional stakeholders and outside counsels as necessary. 
  • Work closely with the Corporate Finance Team to ensure financial internal control systems are effective, company assets are safeguarded, financial reporting is accurate, and remains compliant with relevant laws and regulations, including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). 
  • Conduct or facilitate legal review on risks and opportunities associated with business transactions, contracts and operational decisions in collaboration with outside counsels as necessary. 
  • Develop, maintain, and manage relationship with outside counsels strategically to support RAH in all areas necessary. 
  • Manage and oversee litigation and dispute matters in collaboration with outside counsels and General Counsel. 

What We Are Looking For

  • A minimum of a Juris Doctor (J.D.), or Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree, is required. 
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in legal/compliance department.  
  • International and manufacturing industry experience preferred. 
  • People manager experience preferred to be a manager for junior members. 
  • Thorough knowledge of corporate, regulatory, and compliance laws and practices. 
  • Demonstrable experience in corporate compliance and risk management. 
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proactive, collaborative, and flexible mindset to work as a team manager as well as a business partner in a diverse culture. 
  • High ethical standards, integrity, passion, and a commitment to maintaining the company’s legal and ethical integrity.
